oh yes i forgot to include somethin in the previous post.
june 2
happy birthday yoga.
yes i know i dint wish u in any form of manner and seriously i dont even know if u will read this even.
jus like u said ' i have my reasons', i have my reasons for doin things this way and yes, i hope u are doing good .coz u sure seem like u do.
i dint forget, neither am i one to.
and yes. SMUN 2006 . was an experience i seriously enjoyed and learnt so much from.
day 1: pretty much settling and tastin the horriblest food.
but i still ate it :) . tourin of Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences.
and yes ....the first committe sessions, introduction to the various countries...
settling into the hostel rooms, GASP! (realistation that it wasnt worth all that hype)
social nite : hmmm... funny dancing...
lols.. TECHNO DANCIN!? wahahhahahaa.. a little bit of salsa...
and yeaa.... generally overall a good day...
went back to the hostel room... and four of us cramped and talked cock...
til 2.. walked down to 7-11 .... checked out the prata shop..
walked krishna to the forum.. he was facilitating some camp at NUS....
day 2: we all pretty much knew it was gonnaa be a KILLING day coz we were scheduled to have 10 hours of debates and 2 hours of committee paperwork..
but yes.. the company was too bad.. so we dint literally die.. but rather, we enjoyed the bitching and the rather distinct formation of apparent allies and enemies....
wahaha.
n yes we survived it ! thhe night was jus relaxing.. and yup... we took another walk.. went to central library... sat down there at 1am...
seeing some students studyin there alone.. ( yes, their passion to attain education puts us all to shame eh)
me & vinod had cravings for prata... so off we went..once again to the prata shop .. the murtabak smelt funny, tasted spoilt.. so we gave it back...
and we chilled out somemore.. bought some snacks... retired back to hostel room.. and chilled...
took pics..
day 3: not so bad... but it was evident all of us had lost the drive to press our arguments...
even INDIA, the most aggressive, persuasive delegation, no longer continued stuffing their arguments down our throats....
so yes... but PAKISTAn (us) made significant contributions ...so did Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh...
Germany tried to mention some stuff.. but yea... nothin impressive.
yes.. and it was really evident that all of us were tired.... and jus wanted the whole blardy thing to finish...
coz it was jus the same people that kept goin up to the mike. and it was a unanimous vote for the draft resolution paper 1 so we finally jus ended the meeting!
and started taking pictures!
yay!
THEN.. came prize giving ceremony...
and all three committees came...
UNESCO, WHO, and UNCSD ...... (those of you who are simply effin clueless, hahaha. fear not lar..)
so they started givin out prizes for best postion paper, best speaker , best delegation and best honourable delegate....
for each committee..
then came UNESCO, and i was FUCKIN SHOCKED to hear PAKISTAN. coz seriously, me and my partner did not prepare half as much as USA or other countries did .. what with their research and late in the night discussion..
all we did was to maintain our dignity, not let the confidence overflow (like some countries i wouldnt mention) and jus rise to the occassion = make considerable points when u need..
dont jus rebutt whatever was being said rite?
and yes we won..
and i left NUS a very very very happy delegate.
and yes to the NUS undergraduates... i OWE u one ...
to the fello who was givin me cheeky smiles and tellin me cheese prata was pathetic, i should have told u this... u are one cute manjen.
and i learnt many many lessons.
one of the more important ones : arrogance is your tumbling step to failure.
others: dont trust hostel food and always have spare cash in ur underwear or somethin.
haha.
